5 Point Checklist for Personal Branding

1. See Yourself as a Brand First

“We are all brands. Some have been discovered, some aren’t.” – Shivali Singla

As they say,”It’s important to know & define your worth before anyone else defines it to you.” We all have something that makes us unique from the rest. When you believe in it when you own your brand, it’s when others do.

Know your worth and wear your brand with such confidence & dignity that when people think of your name they have the urge to associate with you and hence, your brand.

2. Perform a Self-Check

What are you most passionate about? What makes you happy? Because our work is something we spend most of our time in and it’s important to enjoy it thoroughly. It helps you to stay inspired and productive. Be specific and clearly define your goals and objectives. In which area of the market do you want to become known?

What difference could you make in peoples lives? How can you gain the trust of people?

What are your core values and personal strengths that set you apart from the competition out there? This will help you have a clear vision of your Unique Selling Point.

3. Thorough Research

Before coming up with anything that is related to your personal branding, do a thorough research. What do you want your personal brand to convey? Will your brand reflect your personality, and your core values and beliefs? Make sure your personal brand reflects your authentic self.

Connect your social media handles to your website for a win-win.

Because it’s also important:

Your brand isn’t what you say it is, it’s what Google says it is” – Chris Anderson

In today’s digital era it’s all a part of personal branding. People want to know your authentic self and hence, your brand’s. So, if you are still not into social media handling then you should. Those half filled LinkedIn or Facebook profiles are not going to help your brand move ahead in your game.

Every single tweet you send out or any Instagram post you publish clearly has influence over your personal branding. So, make sure how you wish your brand to be recognized. Your day to day activities and behind the scene or stage is what they look for when it comes to trust and engagement.

Most importantly, you have to know if your posts add value to your viewers, followers or your readers.

5. Your Game Plan

Now that you have figured out the most important aspects of personal branding. It’s time to move ahead with what you already have got and to know what’s needed to be poured in to get your game to the next level.

Your website or blog and hence, your brand should be worth their time for stopping by. Find the problems your audiences are facing and their pain points, and help them with your solutions, expertise & help them grow as your brand grows.

Navigate & seize every right opportunity that aligns with your audience growth and hence, your brand’s. There will be many situations that will oppose your growth, but you must believe in yourself, your product & hence, your brand.
